University Lodge is a small motel-style property on North Pleasant Street in Amherst, with exterior-access rooms. Rooms include two double beds, a mini fridge, a microwave, air conditioning, a flat-screen TV, and a bath/shower setup.
The stay works best as a practical Amherst base rather than a full-service hotel stay. Free parking is available on the property, and Wi-Fi is available for guests. Coffee and a computer for guest use are available in the main office, and wake-up service is offered.
Pets are welcome for an additional fee, with arrangements made in advance. The motel is also about 8 miles from I-91, which keeps it useful for arrivals by car while still placing the stay in Amherst rather than outside town.
One operating limit is the front office schedule: the office is open from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM, with a 24-hour answering service. Guests arriving after 9:00 PM check in at the Howard Johnson in Hadley.
