The Inn at Houndslake is a low-key hotel at 897 Houndslake Drive, set within the Houndslake Country Club community. The building has a traditional inn feel rather than a large resort style, and the stay centers on a country-club setting with golf course views and quiet grounds.

Rooms include specific practical details: golf course views, free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, microwaves, and minifridges. Some rooms add sitting areas with tables and chairs, and some have four-poster beds. Room information also notes kitchenettes and refrigerators, which helps if you want a simple in-room setup during a longer Aiken stay.

The stay works well because several services are in the building or directly tied to the property. Continental breakfast is included, coffee service is available around the clock, and freshly baked cookies are served at night. Guests also have access to a 27-hole golf course, tennis courts, and an Olympic-sized outdoor pool with a diving platform.

Free parking and free high-speed Wi-Fi are part of the property amenities, and the inn is pet-friendly. The tone here is relaxed and residential, with the main advantage being that the hotel stay is connected to the Houndslake Country Club environment rather than just a roadside lodging stop.

One limit to plan around is arrival support: the front desk is staffed during limited hours, and late arrival requires contacting the property in advance.
