Painter’s Lodge is a resort-style lodge at 1625 McDonald Road, with the main appeal built around its waterfront position, marina access, and lodge atmosphere. The property is open year-round, so it works as a Campbell River base outside the traditional summer season as well as during peak coastal travel months.

Rooms at Painter’s Lodge include standard rooms with queen beds and either garden or ocean views. A garden-view room is also available with a king bed, a kitchenette, a full-size refrigerator, a stove, a fireplace, a flat-screen TV, free Wi-Fi, a hair dryer, and an anti-fog bathroom mirror. Other room types include lofts, suites, cabins, and a house, with suites offering more space and some accommodations adding separate living areas or full kitchens.

The stay works well for travelers arriving by car or by boat because Painter’s Lodge has ample parking and a private marina. The lodge also has dining and lounge spaces facing the ocean, an outdoor heated pool, a hot tub, a fitness centre, and tennis courts, giving guests several ways to spend time on the property without making the stay depend only on the room.

That fits the mix of room styles: smaller rooms for a simpler stay, kitchen-equipped rooms for longer visits, and cabins or larger spaces when more privacy or space matters.

One real limit is accessibility: Painter’s Lodge does not have accessible guest rooms, and accessible amenities are only in the common areas of the main building. The pet policy also limits rooms to a maximum of two pets, while service animals are welcome.
