Ocean View Retreat is a self-contained coastal retreat rather than a full-service city hotel, so the useful details are the space, views, and in-room facilities. Accommodation options include self-catering layouts with bedrooms, bathrooms, laundry facilities, and kitchens or kitchenettes. One option includes a queen bed in the lounge area with a separate bedroom with two single beds, while another has a queen-size bed on ground level.

The stay works well for travelers who want to settle in independently. The property has cooking facilities, refrigerators, tea and coffee facilities, laundry access, heating, and bath facilities, with some accommodation including a spa bath. Outdoor space is part of the appeal too, with a BBQ area, garden space, and water views.

Parking is a practical strength here, with garage, carport, and open parking spaces noted for the property. The setting also gives room for boats and caravans, which makes the property more useful for a longer coastal stop or a road trip through Bicheno.

The building is set on a large coastal site with bush views as well as water views, so the stay feels more like a private retreat than a compact town motel. Ocean View Retreat is a good fit when the priority is a self-contained base with a view, outdoor space, and the ability to manage meals and laundry without relying on hotel services.

One limit to note is cooling: there are no air-conditioning units, so ventilation in warmer weather depends on opening the glass doors.
