Hotel Balkan is in the village of Chiflik in the Troyan Balkan, and it is presented as a mountain hotel complex close to nature. The building uses the style of old Bulgarian houses on the outside while offering a more modern interior, so the stay reads as a relaxed hotel base rather than a small guesthouse.

Rooms at Hotel Balkan include practical, specific setups rather than one single room style. A double room with a terrace has two standard single beds, a private bathroom with toilet, a TV, a refrigerator, and a wardrobe. Its terrace has a small sitting area with a coffee table and chairs, with views toward the pool, the forest, or the stream.

There are also double rooms without a terrace, with two standard single beds and an extra folding single armchair. The mansard bedrooms are on the fourth and top floor, have one double bed, slightly sloped ceilings, and a private bathroom with toilet. All rooms in the hotel are air-conditioned.

The stay works well for guests who want the hotel facilities included in the overnight arrangement. Breakfast is served as a buffet, and the stay includes use of the warm outdoor mineral pool, jacuzzi, shock pool sections, relaxation zone, internet, and parking. The relaxation zone includes sauna, steam bath, Turkish bath, salt room, infrared sauna, and a cardio fitness center.

The water facilities are a real part of the decision here. The outdoor mineral pool is used year-round, and the water temperature in the colder seasons is given as 39°C.

One practical limit is important: Hotel Balkan does not have a lift. The hotel has four floors, and the mansard rooms are on the fourth and top floor, so guests who do not want stairs should choose their room type carefully before booking.
