This is a boutique hotel in a revitalized century-old downtown building, so the stay has more character than a plain roadside stop. Rooms have wood floors, Wi-Fi, smart TVs with Netflix, minibars and coffeemakers, while some suites add rainfall showers, sofabeds or kitchenettes. The Queen Suite includes handmade millwork, upholstery, hardwood flooring, a walk-in shower and local luxury toiletries.

The stay works well inside the building because breakfast is included, and it is served through Best Coast Restaurant. The hotel also has room service, an elevator, a 24-hour fitness room, baggage storage, laundry service and safe deposit boxes at the front desk. For a traveler arriving by car, the property offers parking and electric vehicle charging stations.

The strongest leisure feature is the seasonal rooftop terrace, which has a fire pit and hot tubs. The hot tubs require prior arrangement, so this is a feature to plan rather than something to assume will be available on arrival. Hew & Draw Hotel also allows pets, with pet-friendly rooms needing advance notice and a maximum of two pets per reservation.

The onsite Boomstick Brewery and Alehouse gives the hotel a social, built-in food and drink option without turning the stay into a separate trip across Corner Brook. The brewery and restaurant setup includes floor-to-ceiling windows between the brewing area and the alehouse, so guests can see beer being made while dining. For a short stay in Corner Brook, Hew & Draw Hotel stands out most for combining a downtown address, detailed suite finishes, breakfast in the building and rooftop hot tubs under one roof.
