Deer Park Motor Inn is a motel at 72-74 Glen Innes Rd, with exterior-entry rooms and practical in-room features rather than resort-style formality. Rooms include air conditioning and heating, free Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV, a sitting area, ironing facilities, and tea and coffee facilities. The bathroom setup is private, with a shower and a hairdryer.

Some room types add more space for a longer or more self-contained stop, including upgraded rooms with microwaves and some rooms with whirlpool baths.

The stay is built around useful motel facilities. Breakfast is served in the dining room seven days a week from 7:00 to 8:30, and the property also has a BBQ area with utensils supplied. Guest laundry is available with a washer, dryer, and detergent, with a stated cost per load.

A distinctive part of the property is the deer herd on the premises, with morning and evening deer feeding sessions. The motel also has high-speed NBN wireless internet throughout the property, and late check-in can be handled by text message with the room number and door code after the room is prepared and payment is taken.

The location keeps the stay straightforward for driving around Armidale: the city centre is 3 minutes away, Armidale airport is 7 minutes away, and the University of New England is 5 minutes away. The property also has views over the city.

The main limit is dining: room service is very limited and needs 24 hours’ notice, so it should not be treated as a full on-demand meal service.
